TREATMENTS

Lifestyle modification counseling

With lifestyle counseling integrated into each visit, we will assess readiness for change, identify and address any challenges to making those changes, define achievable goals and select ways to monitor progress toward those goals. Support regarding a healthy lifestyle, including stress reduction, nutrition, supplements, exercise and any other natural or holistic therapies can change the emphasis from disease management to health promotion.

Botanical Medicine

Botanical (herbal) medicine is the use of leaves, flowers, bark, berries, seeds or roots of a plant for their medicinal qualities. Herbs are prepared as liquid extractions, capsules, teas, or incorporated into salves, creams or oils. They can be taken internally or applied topically to support the body to maintain or return to health. Used correctly, herbs can be helpful for a variety of conditions and may have fewer side effects than some conventional medications.

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy utilizes the healing properties of cold and warm water to support the proper function of the immune, nervous, circulatory and metabolic systems of the body. It can be used in acute or chronic situations, and is a great way to invigorate the body each day.

Homeopathy

Homeopathic medicine is a form of holistic medicine that uses minute doses of a substance and is based on a principle that “like cures like”. These remedies are intended to stimulate the body’s natural ability to heal itself and can be useful during acute illnesses or chronic health conditions. Given as pellets dissolved under the tongue, homeopathics are prescribed based on presentation of symptoms and the personality of the patient. Remedies are safe for infants, children, adults and in pregnancy.

Detox

The body is naturally designed to remove the toxins that it encounters. However, due to the daily onslaught of inflammatory foods, food additives, pesticides and other environmental chemicals our bodies can greatly benefit from supporting or even stimulating its ability to remove toxins. Healthy foods are the best way to support the natural detox process, but if needed, herbs, supplements and other programs are available. Detoxing may be considered to address many symptoms, including but not limited to: fatigue, headaches, joint pain, digestive symptoms, skin conditions and mood/behavior issues.

Naturopathic health care should only be practiced by doctors who have earned a post-graduate degree from one of the seven nationally accredited universities, and fulfilled the requirements of the national examination board. Always make sure you can verify completion of one of these rigorous programs before putting your health in their hands.
